"People who are kneaded by people ARE the luckiest people in the world!!!” In so many ways we are lucky.   Looking after our health gives us so much opportunity to enjoy life.  So much of what we do can contribute to our wellbeing.  Appreciating the beauty in our surroundings is one way.  See KNEADING NEWS for details of our latest photographic book, the Magic of the West Highland Way.

Touch is another important way we can feel connected to the world.  I know how beneficial on site acupressure massage can be.   To be relaxed and rejuvenated in twenty minutes is pretty impressive.  And, if we change our physiology we can change our attitude and the way we function in the world.  In fact on site acupressure massage can keep you in good health.
You might not know this but a staggering 12.8 million days are lost in British Industry each year to stress!*   And this costs the UK over £12.2 billion pounds each year in lost revenue.* In a MORI poll research, stress was cited as having a negative effect on the health of over a third of the working population. *1 Health and Safety Executive  2003/4  .  *2  CBI 2004 Absence and Labour Turnover Survey    Now there is a solution!   Yes, an easy cost-effective way of reducing this sea of sickness.  In fact, the benefits of massage have been researched by the University of Miami.  The study showed that after five weeks, a group of 26 employees who had twice weekly, 15 minute massages in the office, were more relaxed and alert than a control group of 24 employees, who were simply instructed to close their eyes and  “relax” for the same duration.According to their research, the massaged group experienced measurably reduced stress and improved performance.  Stress hormones in their saliva were much lower than those found in the control group.  Alpha and beta brainwaves clearly indicated that massage recipients were more alert after their treatment. Additionally both groups were given arithmetical tests in which the massaged group faired much better.   They didn’t test for Sudoki speed  – but we might try that one!
